I use diverse combinations of materials when making my artwork. I combine textiles, digital embroidery, collage and machine stitching into my Encaustic and Cold Wax Oil Paintings. This gives the work a visually complex, tactile surface.
I have been a teacher for over 20 years and am a Core Support Instructor for R&F Handmade Paints. I teach individual artists and groups in my Weston, CT studio. I also give demos and talks about encaustic painting, oil painting and color theory on location.
Art enhances life and should be available to all. I strive to make my artwork ultra-affordable. This means anyone can collect my work which allows me to make more. Win-win!! Check out the Small Works Shop to start collecting and gifting to other collectors.
The embroidered images are my drawings, which I program into stitch-able files and they, along with motif stitching lines, are sewn directly into the paintings. A different way to make art.
